A vibrant and diverse community in the western part of Harris County, Alief was named after Alief Ozelda Magee.  She was the area's first postmaster and one of the city’s first settlers with her husband Dr. John Magee.

Known for its beautiful natural scenery and outdoor recreation opportunities, Atascocita is a suburban community in Harris County.  Its name was believed to be derived from the Spanish word "atascosa", meaning boggy or marshy.  Others were saying though that the name came from the Atascocita military outpost.

Cinco Ranch has a deep history. It started when the Blakeley family, who owned vast acres of land, sold their working ranch to William Wheless.  Perhaps not wanting to run the ranch himself, he convinced four of his friends, J.S. Abercrombie, W.B. Pryon, H.G. Nelms, and L.M. Josey,  to partner with him.  Wheless got a nod from all his friends and they called the community Cinco Ranch. The word “cinco” in Spanish means five.

Once a small ranching town, Alvin lies within the Houston-The Woodlands-Sugar Land metropolitan area and Brazoria County. This city was originally named Morgan in honor of the settlement's early resident Alvin Morgan.  However, another area already named Morgan led to a decision to use his first name Alvin as the community's new name instead. 
Alvin was incorporated in 1911 and began to develop a strong infrastructure of roads and businesses. Since then it has become a bustling suburb of Houston and is now home to many companies, schools, and recreational areas.

Set for a meaningful living, Bridgeland is a quiet community with a few local businesses in Harris County.  It is bounded in the east by the environmental gem Katy Prairie and traversed by a portion of the Cypress Creek riparian corridor.
